Designed primarily as a tool for our WCCA members, this web site is intended to:
- Be a source of information on laws applicable to cemetery management including current and recent legislation
- Provide information on recommended suppliers, technology and equipment
- Promote meetings, seminars, and membership
- Act as a gateway for networking among members, providing a method of contacting other WI cemetery staff and trustees in order to ask questions and share information.
WCCA was founded in 1928 as the Wisconsin Cemetery Association. Our name changed to the Wisconsin Cemetery and Cremation Association in 2000.
The purpose of the Wisconsin Cemetery & Cremation Association is to promote the advancement of knowledge in the operation and maintenance of cemeteries and crematories, to facilitate the exchange of information, to create and maintain high ethical standards in cemetery and cremation administration, both active and historical. Thus, preserving Wisconsin’s wonderful heritage.
Our membership meets annually to hear presentations on cemetery and cremation problems and solutions and to directly discuss mutual problems with counterparts from across the state. Any cemetery in the State of Wisconsin is invited to become an active member of the WCCA. Other out-of-state cemeteries or associations/organizations are welcomed by the WCCA and can sign up to become an associate member of our Association.
WCCA has been instrumental in helping shape the current cemetery laws. Members of our Association have served on the Wisconsin Cemetery Board.
